Feed - Why is it taking so long?

Hi everyone.
As many of you have noticed, this kit is taking forever to make, despite having found it somewhat not so hard as I had originally anticipated.
I've been working on many smaller projects, some of them you already know about, Translation plugin, SavedTeleports, and some small nice surprises too.

In my development, it takes me more time to make the documentations, the tutorial, the demo... than the actual plugins themselves. I'm currently taking for one week to make SavedTeleports tutorial, while the showcase was drafted one day and made the next (To what result you can see...)

I'm also learning a lot of things. As a fellow game developer too, I want to be able to make my own things. Some bgm and se, charas and sprites, animations, and even 3D modeling, along a longer list than I could list in the entire day. All that takes time.

Now, RPG Maker Unite got announced. That discouraged me quite a lot! I won't be able to finish nearly anything before it releases, meaning I am doing all of this for a way smaller public than I had in mind! Plus, it's a plugin for Unity, the engine that got crossed into me (I was a beta tester back when it wasn't free, and to this date I can't finish a thing on that!) , and to top it all, later we'd discover it would be a "free" as in money, plugin for Unity.

It's still one of my most beloved personal projects, making this kit into something people will want to use, so I'm not dropping it... Still, I felt quite down. That is why I begun to focus on smaller plugins with my usual ToS rather than a kit that I feel no longer anyone wants to know about.

Then there's more, besides lack of contacts to help me with the media production, and the lack of confidence in my product because now the core of the whole project is moving ahead without me.

I finally found a really bad paid job, for real important stuff that takes me for 3/4 of the day, causing me to barely keep my eyes open at all the remaining 1/4

Every seemingly "free holiday", gets slammed into worse than working days by family meetings and tasks.

To summarize:

  • Project is still alive, just stuck.
  • Meanwhile I'm working on smaller plugins.
    • They take longer because of the videos, required to publish on rpg maker web.
  • I earn too little and work too much.
    • I don't earn anything from my plugins.
    • I overwork for a salary that doesn't afford living by itself.
  • Even to this moment (writting last line) I got interrupted into doing some thankless tasks for my family.
  • RPG Maker moved on without me, right into what I cannot afford to comprehend.
